History

ICEGEE 2025

The 3rd International Conference on Environmental Geoscience and Earth Ecology (ICEGEE 2025) was a hybrid conference which includes several symposium series (offline and online) around the world. Dr. Alan Wang from University of Auckland, Dr. Ghulam Yaseen from University of Education, and Dr. Javier Cifuentes-Faura from Defense University Center have chaired these symposium series on related topics. ICEGEE 2025 provided the participants with good opportunities to exchange ideas and build networks, and it will lead to further collaborations between both universities and other societies.

Symposium Series

Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and Bioengineering Institute, University of Auckland

Symposium Chair: Dr. Alan Wang, Associate Professor in University of Auckland

The Sensor Technology and Multimodal Data Insights (STMDA 2025) Symposium took place on 16 June 2025 at the Grafton Campus and brought together a diverse group of researchers and postgraduate students to explore emerging innovations at the intersection of biomedical engineering, sensor technology, and AI. The symposium featured several presentations highlighting research in key areas such as augmented reality-based rehabilitation for spatial neglect, deep learning approaches for brain connectivity analysis, spiking and hybrid neural network models for neurological data, and AI-enhanced biosensing platforms for digital health applications. Each presentation sparked engaging questions and knowledge-sharing across disciplinary boundaries. A key focus of discussion was the integration of multimodal data—such as MRI, fMRI, EEG, and sensor data—into intelligent systems that can support diagnosis, prognosis, and personalised intervention. The symposium also addressed challenges in clinical translation, data quality, ethical considerations, and the need for robust AI validation in healthcare settings. The event concluded with a lively open forum exploring future collaboration opportunities and research directions. STMDA 2025 provided a valuable platform for fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and highlighted the growing momentum of sensor- and data-driven innovation in healthcare research. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and follow-up sessions are planned to build on the ideas exchanged.
